TEXTURES
One of the most idiosyncratic metal bands in our country is without a doubt Textures. The six exceptionally talented musicians forge the technical dreamscapes of Cynic, the grooves of Pantera, the aggression of Slayer, prog of Opeth and Gojira and the mechanical-industrial tight math metal grooves of Meshuggah (who also plays on South Of Heaven) into both beautiful ultra heavy songs like ‘Reaching Home’, ‘Awake’, ‘New Horizons’ and “oldies” like ‘Polars’ and ‘Young Man’. All songs that are a real pleasure to listen to and that get extra intense live. It is not without reason that these six sympathetic heavyweights have been at the top of the Dutch metal premier league for almost a quarter of a century.
